How do I hear God's voice?
God speaks most reliably through Scripture — that's the one channel you can trust without question. He also guides through prayer, wise counsel, circumstances, and the quiet conviction of the Holy Spirit, but those should always be weighed against what the Bible already says, never used to override it.
God-breathed words, sufficient for teaching, correcting, and equipping — this is the baseline every other sense of guidance gets checked against.

Father, quiet the noise in my head long enough to actually listen. Let Your word be the first place I look, not the last. Give me discernment to know Your voice from my own wishful thinking, and give me the humility to ask for wise counsel instead of deciding alone. Speak, Lord — I'm listening. Amen.
Treating a strong feeling as automatically from God
Skipping Scripture and going straight to signs or circumstances
Refusing to ask anyone for counsel because you want a private answer
Deciding first, then looking for confirmation instead of direction
It's rare and not the norm to expect. Scripture, not an audible voice, is the primary and most reliable way God communicates.
Silence isn't the same as absence. Keep doing the next faithful, wise thing in front of you while continuing to seek Him — clarity often comes in the walking, not before it.
Test it against Scripture, weigh it with wise counsel, and notice whether it produces the fruit of the Spirit or self-interest dressed up as conviction.
Yes, but circumstances alone are the least reliable guide on their own — they're best read alongside Scripture and counsel, not instead of them.
